His First Big Tournament
Rasheim Wright first played for the Jordanian national team in the 2007 FIBA Asia Championship. This tournament was very important because it helped teams qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Rasheim was a star player, scoring an average of 18.1 points per game. Even with his great performance, Jordan's team was stopped in the quarterfinals.
Winning a Bronze Medal
Wright continued to play for the Jordanian national team in the 2009 FIBA Asia Championship. He helped his team reach the semifinals. They played a tough game against Iran but lost by a small margin, 75–77. In the match for the bronze medal, Rasheim helped Jordan beat Lebanon with a score of 80–66. This win earned Jordan a spot in the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
