A Local Story: The Raccoon Incident
One interesting story from Rassat's past is sometimes called "The Great Raccoon War of 1993." On June 19, 1993, a few local people tried to deal with a large number of raccoons near Wolf Creek. They used .22 Long Rifles to try and scare them away. However, they were not successful in getting rid of the raccoons. This local event is remembered as a time when the raccoons seemed to win!
