Raymond Tyson, known by his stage name Ray Luv, is an American rapper. He comes from Santa Rosa, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ray Luv is famous for his important role in the Bay Area hip hop music scene during the mid-1990s.

Ray Luv's Music Career
Ray Luv started his music journey in the early 1990s. In 1991, he joined an independent music company called Young Black Brotha Records. His friends, fellow rappers Mac Dre and Mac Mall, helped him get signed. Ray Luv has shared that the famous rapper Tupac Shakur gave him his stage name.
Early Music Releases
Ray Luv released his first collection of songs, an extended play (EP), in 1993. It was called Who Can Be Trusted?. A song from this EP, "Get Your Money On," became very popular on local radio stations. The next year, in 1994, Ray Luv's music was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Above The Rim.
Major Album Success
His first big album with a major record company was Forever Hustlin'. It came out in 1995 through Interscope Records. This album was a big hit, reaching number 21 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.
One of Ray Luv's most well-known songs is "Last Nite." The music video for this song was directed by Tupac Shakur in 1994. Ray Luv was close friends with Tupac and other Bay Area rappers like Mac Dre and Mac Mall.
Later Projects
In 1997, Ray Luv contributed to a special Bay Area rap album. It was called Best of Da Bay: A Series of Slaps. This album was also released by Young Black Brotha.
Today, Ray Luv is a co-owner of an online video series. It's called Pushin' The Bay TV. He runs the show with Emcee T, another rapper from Santa Rosa, California.
