Razaaq Adoti's Early Life
Razaaq Adoti was born in Forest Gate, a part of London, England. His family comes from Nigeria. He got his first acting job on a British TV show called Press Gang, where he played a police officer.
He also spent time with the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT). With them, he won an award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for a show called Aesop, A New Opera. He also played the main character, Nathan Detroit, in the musical Guys and Dolls.
After these experiences, Razaaq was accepted into the Central School of Speech and Drama. He studied acting there for three years and earned his degree.
Razaaq Adoti's Career
Becoming an Actor
Razaaq Adoti got a big role as Yamba in Steven Spielberg’s movie Amistad. In this film, he acted alongside famous stars like Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman, and Matthew McConaughey.
After Amistad, he went back to London and worked on many different TV and film projects. These included Gangster No. 1, directed by Paul McGuigan. He also appeared in Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott, where he played the character Yousuf Dahir Mo'alim.
Since then, Razaaq Adoti has been in many other productions. Some of these are Paul W. S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Haven, and Doom. The movie Doom was based on the popular video game. He also starred in The Hard Corps and played Dutch Maas in Bill Duke’s 2008 film, Cover.
Working as a Producer
Razaaq Adoti also has his own production company called Area Boyz. Through this company, he wrote a movie script called Sons of the Soil. This movie is planned to be filmed in both England and Nigeria.
He was also the host and a co-producer for a TV show called Extra Time. This show was on the Fox Soccer Channel and started in the summer of 2008.
