Razzledazzle was a fun BBC television programme made for kids. It aired on CBeebies in the summer of 2005. This educational show featured a cool orange computer-generated character named Razzledazzle. He had two floppy ears and big brown eyes. The voice of Razzledazzle was provided by Bethen Marlow. The very first episode was shown on June 27, 2005.
Discovering Sounds with Razzledazzle
The main goal of Razzledazzle was to help viewers focus on sound. Razzledazzle would travel to different areas using magical slides. These areas helped children learn about sounds, words, and stories.
Exploring the Show's Sections
Razzledazzle visited four special places in each episode. These places were "Rhyme Time," "Chit Chat," "Bish! Bash! Bosh!," and "Once Upon A Tale." Each section taught something new and exciting.
Rhyme Time: Listen and Learn
Sarah Hope hosted the "Rhyme Time" section. Here, kids would hear an everyday sound. This sound was then part of a poem. The poem was often repeated, encouraging viewers to say it along with Razzledazzle. He would often ask, "Why don't you say it too?"
Chit Chat: Talking with Family
"Chit Chat" showed children doing activities with their family members. This part of the show focused on natural communication skills. It helped kids understand how people talk and interact every day.
Bish! Bash! Bosh!: Rhyme and Rhythm
In "Bish! Bash! Bosh!," a group of children would act out simple rhymes. Sometimes, these rhymes were set to music and a beat. The rhymes were usually repeated once. Razzledazzle would say, "Come on! Join in!" This encouraged kids to learn about rhythm and syllables.
Once Upon A Tale: Story Time Fun
The "Once Upon A Tale" section was presented by Mina Anwar and Patrick Lynch. This part helped create short stories. The stories used parts that were easy to guess and repeated. This helped kids learn new words and imagine the stories.
The Not So Long Song
At the end of each show, Razzledazzle and the kids from "Bish! Bash! Bosh!" performed a song. The presenters from "Rhyme Time" and "Once Upon A Tale" also joined in. This song was called "The Not So Long Song." Ben Lee Delisle composed this catchy tune.
Episodes and Production
Twenty episodes of Razzledazzle were made. Each episode was about 20 minutes long. The show aired on BBC2, CBeebies, and as part of BBC Schools' programs. Razzledazzle combined CGI animation with live-action scenes.
How the Show Was Made
Some extra parts of the show used 2D Flash Animation. Most of the show was filmed in front of a green screen. This allowed the presenters to talk with the animated Razzledazzle. The "Chit Chat" parts were filmed in real homes.
