History of Rea, Missouri
Rea got its name from Judge Joseph Rea. He was the first person to own the land where the city is now. A post office has been open in Rea since 1888. This means people have been sending and receiving mail there for a very long time!
One special building in Rea is the J. F. Roberts Octagonal Barn. This unique barn was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. This list includes important places that are worth protecting because of their history.
