The Real Cortijo is special because it was built a long time ago, in 1766. It was an experimental farm, meaning people tried new ways of farming there. This idea came from King Carlos III, who was very interested in how land and people could make his kingdom strong. He believed that the real value of his country was in its farms and people, not just in gold.

After King Carlos III died, his son, Carlos IV, wasn't as interested in farming. So, the Cortijo started to decline. Later, in 1868, during the time of Queen Isabel II, the farm was sold.

Years later, in 1944, after the civil war, a group called the National Institute of Colonization took over the land. They brought in new families to live and work there. New homes were built, and the village grew.

In the 1950s, people were able to buy the land and houses. In 1957, the local council was officially created. Every year on May 15th, the village celebrates a big festival for San Isidro. It's a fun day with a lively market where people sell fresh farm produce!
