Musician facts for kids

A musician is someone who creates or performs music. This can mean playing a musical instrument like a guitar or a piano. It can also mean someone who sings.
Some musicians also write music. These people are called composers. A composer might write music for others to play. But if they play or sing their own music, they are still composers!
Musicians often join together to make music. A group of musicians is called a band if it's just a few people. Think of a rock band with a singer, guitarist, and drummer.
If many people play instruments together, like for classical music, it's called an orchestra. If many people sing together, often in a church, it's called a choir.
