Exploring Redwood's Location
Redwood is found in the eastern part of the town of Alexandria. It shares a border with the town of Theresa to its southeast.
Land and Water Features
The community covers an area of about 6.43 square kilometers (2.48 square miles). Most of this area, about 5.10 square kilometers (1.97 square miles), is land. The rest, about 1.33 square kilometers (0.52 square miles), is water. You can find Mud Lake in the southern part of Redwood. The southwest end of Butterfield Lake is also nearby, in the eastern part of the area.
Roads and Travel
Redwood is located on New York State Route 37. This main road connects with County Roads 3 and 192. Route 37 goes south for about 24 miles (39 km) to Watertown. Watertown is the main city, or county seat, of Jefferson County. Route 37 also goes north for about 22 miles (35 km) to Morristown, which is located on the St. Lawrence River. Another nearby place, Alexandria Bay, is about 7 miles (11 km) to the northwest. You can reach it by taking County Route 192 and State Route 26.
