Reece Walsh (born 10 July 2002) is an Australian professional rugby league player. He plays as a fullback for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League (NRL). He also represents Queensland in the exciting State of Origin series.

About Reece Walsh
Reece Walsh was born in Southport, Queensland, a suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland. His father is Indigenous Australian, and his mother is Māori from New Zealand. Reece grew up in Nerang, Queensland, with his father and stepmother.
He started playing junior rugby league for the Nerang Roosters. During his teenage years, he went to Keebra Park State High School. After school, he was signed by the Brisbane Broncos.
Reece's Rugby League Journey
Starting His Career
In 2018, Reece showed his talent by playing for the Queensland Murri under-16 team. He also played for the Queensland under-16 side. In 2019, he joined the Tweed Heads Seagulls. He helped them win the National Under-18 Title and the Mal Meninga Cup.
During 2019, he also trained with the Brisbane Broncos NRL team. He scored a try for Queensland under-18 in their win against New South Wales. Later that year, he scored another try for the Australian Schoolboys against the Junior Kiwis.
Playing for the Warriors (2021-2022)
In 2021, Reece Walsh joined the Brisbane Broncos NRL squad. He started the season playing for the Norths Devils in the Queensland Cup.
On 18 March, Reece signed a three-year contract with the New Zealand Warriors. This contract was set to begin in 2022. However, on 10 April, he was allowed to leave the Broncos early. This meant he could join the Warriors right away.
Reece made his first-grade debut for the Warriors on 25 April. This was in round 7 of the 2021 NRL season against Melbourne.
In May, Reece confirmed he would play for Queensland and Australia. He was chosen to play fullback for Queensland in the second game of the State of Origin series. He would have been one of the youngest players for Queensland since 1995. However, he could not play due to an injury.
In round 23, Reece had a tough game with goal kicking. He only converted one goal out of five attempts. This included a kick late in the game against Brisbane. The Warriors lost the match 24-22, which ended their chances of reaching the finals.
In 2022, Reece was again selected for the extended Queensland Maroons squad. This was for State of Origin Game 2, but he did not play.
On 6 July, Reece was allowed to leave his New Zealand contract early. He rejoined his former club, Brisbane, starting in 2023. Reece said he moved back due to family reasons. He also reportedly turned down a big offer from the new NRL team, The Dolphins. On 7 July, Brisbane officially announced his return on a three-year deal.
Returning to the Broncos (2023-Present)
In January 2023, Reece was involved in a disagreement with a Gold Coast player. Security staff had to separate them. In a pre-season game, Reece got a facial injury playing against the Gold Coast. He was out of action for a while.
In round 2 of the 2023 NRL season, Reece made his club debut for Brisbane. He scored a try in their 28–16 win over North Queensland. The next week, he scored two tries in a big 40–18 victory over St. George Illawarra.
After playing very well, Reece was chosen to play for Queensland in game one of the 2023 State of Origin series. He replaced the previous fullback, Kalyn Ponga.
Reece was involved in a clash with New South Wales player Jarome Luai in game two of the State of Origin series. Both players were sent off the field. Queensland won the game 32–6 and won the series.
In June 2023, Reece was suspended for three matches. This was for something he said to a referee during a game. As a result, Reece missed the third State of Origin match.
Reece played 22 games for Brisbane in the 2023 NRL season. He played in Brisbane's close 26-24 loss against Penrith in the 2023 NRL Grand Final.
In round 3 of the 2024 NRL season, Reece had to leave the field. This was during a game against Penrith after colliding with Taylan May. It was later announced that Reece would be out for up to six weeks with a facial injury.
On 26 March, it was reported that Reece signed a five-year contract extension. This deal made him the highest-paid player in the club's history. In round 8 of the 2024 NRL season, Reece scored two tries for Brisbane. This helped them win 34-10 against the Wests Tigers.
Reece played 14 games for Brisbane in the 2024 NRL season. The club finished 12th on the table and missed the finals. On 31 October, Reece re-signed with the club on a four-year deal.
In round 14 of the 2025 NRL season, Reece scored two tries for Brisbane. This was in their 44-14 victory over the Gold Coast.
