Reginald Stewart Abbott (born February 4, 1930) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was a talented athlete who played hockey for many years. Reg Abbott played a few games in the top league, the National Hockey League (NHL), with the Montreal Canadiens. This was during the 1952–53 season. Most of his career, from 1950 to 1965, was spent playing in the senior leagues in Ontario. He also played for the Canadian national team in the 1965 World Championships.

When Reg Abbott was young, growing up in Winnipeg, he was an amazing all-around athlete. He wasn't just good at hockey! He played baseball as a second baseman for the Rosedales team, which won the championship in Manitoba. He was also a very good golfer and a skilled lacrosse player. But as he got older, he decided to focus his talents on ice hockey.

Reg Abbott's Hockey Journey

Reg Abbott started his professional hockey career with the Victoria Cougars. He played there for four seasons. During this time, he got the chance to play three games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the famous Montreal Canadiens in the 1952–53 season. In those three NHL games, he didn't score any points.

After his time with the Cougars, Abbott played for the Windsor Bulldogs for five seasons. He also played a few games for the Pittsburgh Hornets in the American Hockey League. Later in his career, he played briefly with the Winnipeg Maroons and the Clinton Comets before he stopped playing professionally. In 1965, he proudly represented the Canadian National Team at the World Championships, where they finished in fourth place.
