The Regional Science Centre, Bhopal (RSCB) is a fun place in Bhopal, India. It is located in the Shyamla Hills area. This center helps make science and technology exciting for everyone. It especially focuses on students.

The RSCB is part of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM). India's President, Shankar Dayal Sharma, opened it on January 12, 1995. Since then, it has been teaching people about science. It helps them become curious and think like scientists. It is the only science center in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Many students and families visit the center every year.

Explore Science: Exhibits & Fun

The center has over 266 science exhibits. These cover many different science topics. Most of them are interactive, so you can touch and play with them. The RSCB campus is about 5 acres big. A large part of it is a 3-acre Science Park.

What You'll Find in the Park

The Science Park has more than 60 outdoor exhibits. You can see how pulleys work. There is also a real windmill. You can even find devices powered by the sun. The campus also has a small Dinosaur Park. It even has a small zoo to explore.

Inside the Center: Shows & Learning

Inside the center, there is a large auditorium. It can seat 200 people. There is also a smaller conference hall for 25 people. Both are air-conditioned. They are sometimes used for special events. You can also watch a 3D Science Show in a 50-seat hall. The RSCB has a portable planetarium. It has a special inflatable dome. Up to 25 people can watch the stars inside it.

Science on Wheels: Mobile Bus

The RSCB also has a Mobile Science Exhibition bus. This bus carries 24 exhibits. It travels to small towns and villages. It helps people learn about science. The bus shows films and does sky observations. It also gives talks to create scientific awareness.

Exciting Events & Programs

The center hosts many exciting events. These events help people learn more about science. They are often held on weekends or special days.

Stargazing & Special Days

You can join a sky observation program. This happens on weekends after sunset. They also organize it for special events like meteor showers. The center celebrates special days too. These include International Museum Day and No Tobacco Day. They hold awareness programs and exhibitions.

Competitions & Workshops

Student exhibits and science fairs are held regularly. Scientists and professors give special talks. These talks celebrate important science days. Students can join contests and watch science films. There are also awareness programs and drama festivals. Workshops and special exhibitions are also part of the fun. During summer vacations, multi-day workshops are held for students.

Learning for Teachers

The RSCB also trains teachers. They learn how to make simple, low-cost teaching tools. Schools can ask for science demonstration lectures. The center offers memberships for individuals and families. Schools and other groups can also become members. Members can take part in all the activities and programs.
