Reinaldo Marcus Green (born December 16, 1981) is a talented American director, producer, and writer. He is known for making movies that tell important stories. Some of his well-known films include Monsters and Men (2018), Joe Bell (2020), and Bob Marley: One Love (2024). His 2021 movie King Richard was even nominated for the Best Picture award!

Early Life and Education
Reinaldo Marcus Green was born in the Bronx, a part of New York City. He grew up in different areas of New York, including Staten Island. His parents separated, and he and his brother, Rashaad, mostly lived with their father. When they were kids, they loved playing baseball and even dreamed of becoming professional players.
Green went to Port Richmond High School. After that, he earned a special degree in education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He even worked as an elementary school teacher for a while. Later, he worked at a company called AIG for five years. He needed to earn money to pay back his college loans.
However, a big financial crisis happened in 2008. Because of this, Green's department at AIG was made smaller. He felt disappointed with the business world. His brother then introduced him to filmmaking. At 27, Green decided to go back to school. He joined the film program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Since then, he has also taught film classes there.

Green first became known for his short films. He made some by himself and others with his brother. One of his short films was Stone Cars. It was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. This film was shown at the famous Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Another important short film was Stop. This movie was inspired by a real-life event and was shown at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in 2015.
In 2017, Green received a special award called the Sundance Institute Fellowship. This helped him make his first full-length movie, Monsters and Men, in 2018. This drama film won an award at the Sundance Film Festival for being an outstanding first movie.
His next big project was Joe Bell (2020). Famous actors like Mark Wahlberg starred in it. For his first TV show, Green directed three episodes of a British crime drama called Top Boy in 2019.
In 2019, it was announced that Green would direct a movie called King Richard. This film is about Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams. Will Smith played Richard Williams in the movie. King Richard was released in 2021 and received many awards and nominations.
Green also directed the HBO miniseries We Own This City (2022). This show was based on a true story from a book. In 2024, he directed another movie about a famous person, Bob Marley: One Love. This film tells the story of the reggae musician Bob Marley. The movie was popular with audiences. Green is also expected to direct a new comedy-drama movie for Lionsgate.
In February 2025, it was announced that Green would direct and help write a TV special for Marvel Studios. This special will be about a character called Frank Castle / Punisher. He will work again with actor Jon Bernthal on this project.
