Reliance is a small community that doesn't have its own local government. It is located right on the border between two U.S. states: Maryland and Delaware.
On the Maryland side, parts of Reliance are in Caroline County and Dorchester County. The Delaware side of the community is found in Sussex County.
Reliance is easy to find because it sits along two main roads, Delaware Route 20 and Maryland Route 392. It is also near where Maryland Route 577 meets these roads. This community is located to the west of a town called Seaford. In the past, Reliance was known by a different name: Johnson's Crossroads.
