Playing for Football Clubs
Renato Zaccarelli started playing football when he was young. He joined the youth team of Torino at age 15. To gain more experience, he played for other teams like Catania and Novara in Italy's second division, called Serie B.
He made his first appearance in Serie A, Italy's top league, with Verona in 1973. In the summer of 1974, he returned to Torino. He became a key player in their midfield.
Zaccarelli helped Torino win the Scudetto, which is the Serie A championship title, in the 1975–76 season. This was a very important win for the club. He played for Torino until he retired in 1987. He played 413 games and scored 21 goals for the team. He is one of the players with the most games played for Torino in Serie A.
Playing for Italy
Renato Zaccarelli also played for the Italian national team for five years. He played in 25 games and scored two goals for his country.
