How Reunion Started
Reunion is a special kind of neighborhood that was carefully planned out. A company called Shea Homes started developing it in 2001. Before Reunion was built, this area was mostly open farmland. It was located between the cities of Commerce City and Brighton. In the 1980s, Commerce City officially added this land to its city limits.
How Reunion is Managed
Community Rules and Governance
Reunion is not its own separate town. Instead, it's a community that is part of Commerce City, Colorado. This means that the City Council of Commerce City makes the main decisions for Reunion.
For daily services, Reunion gets its fire protection from the South Adams County Fire Protection District. The Commerce City police department helps keep everyone safe. All the public schools that serve Reunion are part of the Brighton 27J School System.
Reunion residents also agree to follow a set of rules called a Community Covenant. This covenant helps keep the neighborhood looking nice. It has guidelines for things like how homes can be decorated and what kind of fences are allowed. It also asks residents to help support the local library and recreation centers. The Reunion Homeowner's Association, often called the "RHA," makes sure these rules are followed.

Chambers Road is to the west, and 96th Avenue is currently the southern border. There are also some other parts of Reunion that are still being developed. These areas are west of Chambers Road and south of 104th Avenue.
