Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars is a 1981 TV movie that brings together episodes from the classic 1960s British puppet TV show Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. This movie was made by ITC Entertainment in New York. It combines four exciting episodes: "Shadow of Fear", "Lunarville 7", "Crater 101", and "Dangerous Rendezvous". It's like a sequel to another Captain Scarlet movie called Captain Scarlet vs. the Mysterons, which came out in 1980.
The original TV series is set in the year 2068. It tells the story of a "war of nerves" between Earth and the Mysterons. The Mysterons are an alien race from Mars. They have a strange power: they can perfectly copy people or objects that have been destroyed. They use these copies to attack humanity.
Earth is protected by a special military group called Spectrum. Their best agent is Captain Scarlet. He was once killed by the Mysterons, but they rebuilt him as a copy. However, this copy broke free from their control! Captain Scarlet's new body can heal itself from almost any injury. This amazing power makes him Spectrum's most valuable hero in the fight against the Mysterons.

What is Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars About?
This movie combines four adventures of Captain Scarlet and his team. They face off against the Mysterons, who are always trying to cause trouble for Earth.
Mysteron Attacks: What Happens First?
Spectrum tries to explore Mars using a space probe. But the Mysterons strike first! They kill an astronomer working on the project and replace him with a perfect copy. This copy, controlled by the Mysterons, tries to ruin the mission.
Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue (voiced by Francis Matthews and Ed Bishop) chase down the copy. They stop it, but not before it damages the mountain observatory. This observatory was supposed to receive pictures from the Mars probe. The observatory is destroyed, and the pictures are lost. This part of the story comes from the episode "Shadow of Fear".
Exploring the Moon: What Do They Find?
The leader of the Moon declares that the Moon will stay neutral in the war between Earth and the Mysterons. But then, strange reports come in. People say an unknown building is being built on the far side of the Moon.
Captain Scarlet, Captain Blue, and Lieutenant Green (voiced by Cy Grant) are sent to Lunarville 7, a moon colony. They investigate the reports and make an amazing discovery: the mysterious building is actually a secret Mysteron base! This adventure is from the episode "Lunarville 7".
Destroying the Mysteron Base: How Do They Do It?
After reporting their findings to Spectrum, Scarlet, Blue, and Green return to the Moon. Their mission is to destroy the Mysteron facility. They manage to remove its glowing crystal power source. This stops the Mysterons' ability to rebuild things there.
With the power source gone, the base can be permanently destroyed. Spectrum uses a nuclear bomb to finish the job. This exciting part of the story comes from the episode "Crater 101".
Talking to the Mysterons: Can They Make Peace?
Back on Earth, a scientist named Dr. Kurnitz (voiced by Jeremy Wilkin) makes an important discovery. He finds a way to use the crystal power source to talk directly with the Mysterons!
Colonel White (voiced by Donald Gray), the commander of Spectrum, sends a message to Mars. He asks the Mysterons to stop their attacks and end the conflict with humanity. This final part of the movie is from the episode "Dangerous Rendezvous".
Mystery Science Theater 3000: A Funny Look at the Movie
On November 24, 1988, Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars was shown on a funny TV show called Mystery Science Theater 3000. This show is known for making fun of old movies. It was the second episode of the show's original run on Minneapolis TV station KTMA.
The movie was part of a "double feature" that day. Earlier, they had shown Invaders from the Deep (1981). That movie was also a compilation, based on another puppet series by the Andersons, Stingray.
