Ricardo Quantaye Lockette (born May 21, 1986) is a former professional football player. He was a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL). Ricardo was born in Albany, Georgia. He played college football for the Fort Valley State Wildcats. The Seahawks signed him in 2011.

Early Life
Ricardo Quantaye Lockette was born on May 21, 1986. His parents are Earl and Felita Lockette. When he was young, Ricardo played Little League football. His father was his coach.
Ricardo went to Monroe Comprehensive High School in Albany. There, he played football and ran track. He planned to play football for the Auburn Tigers. However, he did not go to that university.
College Days
Lockette first went to Wallace Community College for one year. He was very good at running. He finished tenth in the country in the 400-meter dash. After a year, he took time off to train for the Olympics.
Later, Lockette transferred to Fort Valley State University. In 2008, he won the NCAA Division II 200-meter dash. His best time was 20.63 seconds. He also ran the 100-meter dash in 10.28 seconds. His track coach, Tyree Price, believed Ricardo could have gone to the Olympic trials if he had continued with track.
In 2010, Ricardo played football for the Fort Valley State Wildcats. He was a wide receiver and also returned kickoffs. He caught 23 passes for 262 yards and scored one touchdown. After this season, he was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. This event helps professional teams find new players.
Playing Professional Football
Ricardo Lockette was very fast. He tied for the third-fastest 40-yard dash time at the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine. This is a test where players run 40 yards as fast as they can.
Starting with the Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks signed Lockette in 2011. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't chosen in the main player draft. He was first released, then joined the Seahawks' practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but don't play in games yet. In December 2011, he was moved to the main team.
Ricardo made some important plays for the Seahawks. He had a 44-yard catch against the San Francisco 49ers. He also caught a 61-yard touchdown pass against the Arizona Cardinals. In 2012, he was released from the main team again. He then joined the practice squad but was released later that year.
Moving to Other Teams
In September 2012, Lockette joined the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad. He stayed with them until August 2013. Then, on September 1, 2013, the Chicago Bears signed him to their practice squad. He was with the Bears for a short time before leaving in October.
Back with the Seahawks
Lockette returned to the Seattle Seahawks on October 22, 2013. During this time, he became a special teams player. These players are important for plays like kickoffs and punts.
Ricardo won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks on February 2, 2014. They beat the Denver Broncos 43–8. He had one catch for 19 yards in that game.
In Super Bowl XLIX, Lockette caught 3 passes for 59 yards. However, the Seahawks lost to the New England Patriots 28–24. He was the player the ball was thrown to on the Seahawks' last offensive play.
In March 2015, the Seahawks decided not to keep Lockette at first. But he later re-signed with the team.
On November 1, 2015, during a game against the Dallas Cowboys, Lockette was hurt. He suffered a neck injury that needed surgery. This injury ended his season. Ricardo Lockette announced his retirement from football on May 12, 2016.
