Ridge is a small, quiet place called an unincorporated community or a hamlet in Morgan County, West Virginia. This means it's a small settlement that isn't officially governed by its own local city or town government. It's located right along Valley Road, which is also known as U.S. Highway 522. You can find it where Valley Road meets Fish Hatchery Road. Ridge is also very close to the border of Frederick County, Virginia. To its east, you'll find Sleepy Creek and Timber Ridge, and to its west is Warm Springs Ridge.
What's in a Name? The Story of Ridge
Ridge got its name because of where it's built! The community sits on top of a ridge, which is a long, narrow raised strip of land. Imagine a small hill that stretches out for a while – that's a ridge!
