Riedlingen is a town in Germany. It is located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. About 10,000 people call Riedlingen home. The town is close to the Danube River.
History
Riedlingen has a very long history. It is over 1,000 years old! The town was first mentioned in old documents way back in the year 835. However, it was officially founded in the 13th century.
Later, in 1806, Riedlingen became part of the Kingdom of Württemberg. This was a historical kingdom in Germany. Much more recently, in 1973, the town became part of the Biberach District.
Politics
The town of Riedlingen has a mayor who helps lead the community. The current mayor is Marcus Schafft. He is a member of the CDU political party. The mayor works to make decisions for the town and its people.
