Antônio Rinaldo Gonçalves, known simply as Rinaldo, is a former Brazilian football player. He was born on October 31, 1966. Rinaldo played as a forward, which means he was a player who tried to score goals. He played for many different football clubs in Brazil and also in Portugal. He even played one game for the Brazilian national team!

Rinaldo's Football Journey
Rinaldo started his football career in his home state of Paraíba, Brazil. He first played for a team called Campinense. Later, he moved to their rival team, Treze.
Playing in Brazil's Top Leagues
Rinaldo played 36 games for Santa Cruz between 1987 and 1988. He scored five goals for them in Brazil's top league, called Série A. After that, he joined Fluminense, a club based in Rio de Janeiro. He played 21 Série A games for Fluminense and scored seven goals.
From 1991 to 1992, Rinaldo played for São Paulo. He appeared in 15 Série A games and scored two goals. If you count all the different competitions, he played 28 games for São Paulo and scored four goals in total.
In 1992, Rinaldo played four games for Sport Recife in the Copa do Brasil. He scored four goals in those games. He left Sport Recife after the 1993 season.
Playing Abroad and Retirement
After leaving Sport Recife, Rinaldo played for Portuguesa. He then moved to Portugal to play for clubs like Marítimo and Moreirense. He also played for Juventude in Brazil. In 1994, he played for Kärnten in Austria. After his time in Austria, Rinaldo retired from football and moved to the city of Recife in Brazil.
Playing for Brazil
Rinaldo played only one game for the Brazil national team. This happened in 1990. It was a special friendly game played to celebrate the 50th birthday of the legendary football player Pelé.
The game took place on October 31, 1990, at the Stadio San Siro in Milan, Italy. Brazil lost the game 2–1. This game is remembered because Rinaldo received a pass from Pelé. Instead of passing the ball back to Pelé, Rinaldo shot the ball himself, but he missed the goal. This meant Pelé couldn't try to score his 1282nd goal.
