Rising Fawn is a small community in Dade County, Georgia, in the United States. It is an unincorporated community, which means it does not have its own city government. You can find it in the southern part of Dade County. One of its most famous spots is Cloudland Canyon State Park, a beautiful place to visit.

The Story Behind the Name
Rising Fawn has a really interesting name! It comes from a story about a Cherokee Indian chief. It was a custom to name a child after the first beautiful thing seen at dawn.
One morning, the chief saw a young deer, called a fawn, stand up from its bed. He thought it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. So, he named his child Rising Fawn.

Rising Fawn is in the northwestern part of Georgia. It is very close to the state line of Alabama.

Interstate 59 runs near the community. This highway goes from the southwest to the northeast. If you travel northeast on I-59, you can reach Chattanooga, Tennessee, which is about 28 miles (45 km) away. If you go southwest, you will reach Birmingham, Alabama, about 120 miles (193 km) away.
U.S. Route 11 also goes through Rising Fawn. This road leads north about 8 miles (13 km) to Trenton, which is the main town of Dade County. Going southwest on U.S. Route 11 will take you to Hammondville, Alabama, about 14 miles (23 km) away.
