The River Strine is a small river in Shropshire, England. It's about 5.4 kilometers (3.4 miles) long. The Strine flows into a bigger river called the River Tern. It helps drain an area known as the Weald Moors, which is a flat, wet, fenland area north of Telford. The river also collects water from nearby towns like Newport and Lilleshall.

Journey of the River Strine

The River Strine starts when two smaller streams, the Pipe Strine and the Wall Brook, join together. It then flows through a place called Cherrington Moor. After that, it passes by a tiny village named Rodway.

Flowing Through Moors

The river continues its journey through Dayhouse and Crudgington Moor. Here, another stream called the Commission Drain, also known as the Red Strine, flows into it.

Meeting the Tern

After passing Crudgington Moor, the Strine goes by the village of Crudgington. A main road, the A442, crosses over it there. Soon after, the River Strine meets and joins the larger River Tern.

How Much Water Flows?

Experts measured how much water flows in the River Strine near Crudgington. They used a special device called a gauging station. Between 1982 and 2009, the river's average flow was about 0.67 cubic meters per second. That's like saying it moved about 24 cubic feet of water every second!
