The River Tern is a cool river in Shropshire, England. It is also sometimes called the River Tearne. This river flows through the beautiful English countryside.

Where the River Tern Starts
The River Tern begins its journey in Staffordshire. Its source is a lake called Maer Pool. This lake is found in the grounds of Maer Hall. From there, the river starts flowing towards the south.
Journey Through Shropshire
The River Tern flows for about 30 miles (48 kilometers). It passes near the town of Market Drayton. As it travels, it collects water from smaller rivers. These smaller rivers are called tributaries.
Joining the River Severn
After its long journey, the River Tern meets a much bigger river. It joins the famous River Severn. This meeting point is near Attingham Park in Atcham. The River Severn is one of the longest rivers in Great Britain.
