Rixensart is a town in Wallonia, a region in Belgium. It is located in the province of Walloon Brabant.
As of January 1, 2018, Rixensart had about 22,401 people living there. The town covers an area of 17.54 square kilometers. This means about 1,277 people live in each square kilometer.
Rixensart is made up of three main areas, called districts: Rixensart, Rosières, and Genval. One popular spot is Genval-les-Bains. It has a beautiful 100-year-old lake with a fountain. Trees, houses, and restaurants surround the lake. Rixensart is also home to the lovely private Château de Rixensart.
The town has two train stations, one in Rixensart and one in Genval. These stations connect Rixensart to Brussels in the north and Louvain-la-Neuve in the south. A new train system called the Brussels RER is improving these stations. This will make it easier for more trains to run between Brussels and Namur. Many people now choose to live in Rixensart and travel to Brussels for work. This is because it's close to Brussels, has good train links, and is near the E411 Motorway.
