Robert Stanley Dyrdek (born June 28, 1974) is an American entrepreneur, actor, producer, reality TV star, and former professional skateboarder. He is famous for his roles in MTV shows like Rob & Big, Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, and Ridiculousness. Besides TV, Dyrdek has started many businesses through his company, Dyrdek Machine. These include Street League Skateboarding and Superjacket Productions.

Early Life and Skateboarding
Rob Dyrdek was born on June 28, 1974, in Kettering, Ohio. He loved sports as a kid. He started skateboarding when he was 11 years old. Rob was very focused on becoming a professional skateboarder. He would think about tricks in school. Then, he would skate until he had to go inside. Rob went to Fairmont High School in Kettering.
Rob's Amazing Career
Becoming a Pro Skater
When Rob was 11, he got a sponsorship from a local skate shop. He started competing at age 12. A national brand, Gordon and Smith Skateboard Company, also sponsored him. In 1989, at 15, Rob won a big competition. At 16, he moved to Southern California. He wanted to focus on his skateboarding career.
He officially became a professional skateboarder in 1991. He competed in Germany and placed fifth. He also appeared in a skate video called Memory Screen. A company called Alien Workshop started sponsoring him. They soon made skateboards with his name on them. Rob also started his own skateboard company, Orion Trucks, when he was 17.
By 1995, Rob was competing all over the world. He traveled to North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Around that time, DC Shoes started sponsoring him. He launched his first signature shoe with DC in 1995. This started a 20-year partnership. He designed 29 different shoes with them. In 1999, Rob started his first business, Dyrdek Enterprises.
In 2000, Rob placed sixth in park skating at the X Games. In 2003, he started another skateboard company, Silver Trucks. In 2005, he helped design and fund the world's first skate plaza. It was called the Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Plaza. It was built in his hometown of Kettering. This park looked like a city street. It had stairs, ledges, and railings. It was the first project funded by his foundation.
Rob's MTV Shows
In 2006, the MTV show Rob & Big started. It starred Rob and his best friend, Christopher "Big Black" Boykin. His cousin, Chris "Drama" Pfaff, and friend, Rashawn "Bam Bam" Davis, were also on the show. The show came from a skit Rob made for a DC Shoes video. In the skit, he hired Big Black as a bodyguard. The show featured their funny adventures.
In 2007, Rob set 21 skateboarding world records in one day. This was for the Guinness Book of World Records. Some records included the longest board slide. He also had the highest skateboard ramp jump into water. The show Rob & Big ended in 2008 after three seasons.
In 2009, Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory began. It featured Rob, Drama, and his business team. The show was set in Rob's "Fantasy Factory." This was a huge warehouse where Rob ran his businesses. He even built a recording studio for Drama there. During the first season, he opened his first SafeSpot SkateSpot. The mayor of Los Angeles rode with Rob on the world's largest skateboard.
Fantasy Factory aired for seven seasons. The final episode was in 2014. In that episode, Rob set another Guinness World Record. He made the longest reverse ramp jump by a car. The show featured many stunts. Rob was bitten by a shark and attacked by a trained tiger. He also did the first kickflip with a Chevrolet Sonic. He even helped invent a "skateboard car." This was a customized Ford Mustang.
In a 2009 episode, Rob bought a racehorse. He even rode it in its first race. The horse, Mega Heat, won the race with Rob as the jockey. Rob owned as many as 13 horses at one time. Some of his horses raced in big events like the Breeders' Cup.
Street League Skateboarding and More TV
In 2010, Rob started Street League Skateboarding (SLS). This was a professional skateboarding competition series. It offered the biggest prize money in skateboarding history. The championship event was shown on ESPN in many countries. SLS also worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. They helped build new skate parks in California.
SLS was the main topic of Rob's 2013 documentary film, The Motivation. This film was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. SLS has grown into a global series. It now has events all over the world.
In 2011, Rob's third MTV show, Ridiculousness, premiered. Rob hosts the show with his friends Chanel West Coast and Steelo Brim. They watch and comment on funny internet videos. By 2020, Ridiculousness was a huge part of MTV's schedule.
In 2012, Rob's animated TV series Wild Grinders started on Nicktoons. Rob created and produced the show. He also voiced the character Lil' Rob. The characters were based on toys Rob designed.
Rob's company, Superjacket Productions, made a deal with MTV in 2014. They continued to produce Ridiculousness. They also made a final season of Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. That year, Rob also produced a cooking show called Snack-Off for MTV.
Superjacket Productions created and produced many new shows. In 2016, two shows produced by Rob premiered on Nickelodeon. These were Jagger Eaton's Mega Life and Crashletes. He also produced The Dude Perfect Show. This show started on CMT in 2016. It moved to Nickelodeon for its second season.
Rob's Business Ventures
In 2016, Rob started the Dyrdek Machine. This company helps new businesses grow. Rob had already invested in many companies. These included UFC and the clothing brand Stance. Through Dyrdek Machine, he has helped start many brands. These include Lusso Cloud, Mindright, and Outstanding Foods. By 2022, he had helped start or partnered with 18 brands. Five of these brands were bought by other investors.
Rob also kept creating TV shows through Superjacket Productions. In 2017, he produced Amazingness for MTV. This was a talent competition show. In 2020, Street League Skateboarding and Superjacket Productions joined with Nitro Circus. They formed a new company called Thrill One Sports & Entertainment.
Later in 2020, Rob and Superjacket produced another Ridiculousness spin-off. It was called Deliciousness. This show was about funny food videos. Superjacket Productions became Thrill One Media in 2021. Two more Ridiculousness spin-offs premiered that year. These were Messyness and Adorableness. Rob was an executive producer for these shows.
In 2021, Rob started a business podcast called Build with Rob. That year, he also started a non-profit group. It's called the Do-Or-Dier Visionary Foundation. It helps young people learn about starting businesses. In 2022, Thrill One Sports & Entertainment was bought for $300 million. Rob also invested more money in Thrill One at that time.
Personal Life
Rob Dyrdek has one sister. He became an ordained minister in 2011. He performed his sister's wedding. The wedding was shown on Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. It took place at the Fantasy Factory in Los Angeles. Rob got engaged to his girlfriend, Bryiana Noelle Flores, at Disneyland. They are married and have two children.
