Early Life and Training
Roberto Bolle was born in Casale Monferrato, Italy. He grew up in the nearby town of Trino. He discovered his love for ballet at a young age and started taking lessons when he was seven.
His talent was clear, and at age twelve, he was accepted into the prestigious La Scala theatre ballet school in Milan. In 1990, the legendary dancer Rudolf Nureyev noticed Bolle. Nureyev wanted to cast him in a production, but the theater felt Bolle was too young for the part.
A Star on the Stage
Rising to the Top
In 1996, after a powerful performance in Romeo and Juliet, Bolle was promoted to principal dancer at La Scala. He was only twenty years old. A year later, he decided to become a freelance artist, which allowed him to dance with companies all over the world.
He has starred in many classic ballets. These include Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Cinderella, and The Nutcracker.
