Roberto Diana (born on February 21, 1983) is a talented musician from Italy. He is known as a guitarist, composer, and producer. He also works as a "session man," which means he plays music for other artists' recordings.

About Roberto Diana
Roberto Diana was born in Luras, a town in Sardinia, Italy. He started playing the guitar when he was 14 years old. Right away, he began touring with local bands.
He studied music at the "Luigi Canepa" Conservatory in Sassari. He also took special classes to learn about jazz guitar from Paolo Fresu. In 2003, Roberto moved to Milan. There, he earned a master's degree in rock guitar in 2007.
Roberto's Solo Music
In 2010, Roberto began working on his first album, "Raighes Vol 1." This album was nominated for an award in 2013 at the 12th Independent Music Awards. It was nominated in the "Instrumental" category.
Before the full album came out, a smaller preview called "Rough Tapes" was released in 2011. Critics really liked this first look at his music. The final version of "Raighes Vol 1" was released in June 2012. After that, Roberto went on a tour across Europe. He played in many countries, including Luxembourg, Scotland, Germany, the UK, and Italy.
In 2015, he released a special live music film on DVD. It was filmed under a very old olive tree (4,000 years old!) in Luras. In 2016, his instrumental music EP, "Live at Whisky a Go Go," was nominated for "Best Instrumental EP" at the 15th Independent Music Awards.
His much-awaited album, "Raighes Vol 2," came out in March 2017. It received a top rating of 5 stars from Rock & Reel UK magazine. This album was even considered for the 60th Grammy Awards.
Playing Music in America
Roberto has worked with many American artists. He has been a sound engineer, guitarist, and producer for their albums. Some famous musicians he has worked with include Steve Lukather, Tony Levin, and Simon Phillips.
In 2009, he traveled to Los Angeles to play at the NAMM Show. This is one of the biggest music fairs in the world. At this event, he showed off his own special guitar, which was made just for him.
From January to March 2014, Roberto toured California to promote his album "Raighes Vol 1." He finished his tour on March 15 at the Whisky a Go Go club. He recorded a live album there, which was released in May 2015. Roberto often goes on tour in the United States.

Roberto's Special Guitar
In 2009, a guitar maker called MN Guitar created a special acoustic guitar for Roberto. It's called "Twilight 001/09." This guitar travels with him on his tours all around the world.
Playing with Lowlands
In 2008, Roberto joined a rock band called Lowlands. He has recorded three albums with them and toured a lot. He helped produce all three albums and played several types of guitars, like the Weissenborn and lap steel.
Some of their albums include Gypsy Child (2010). This album featured songs with Amanda Shires and Tim Rogers. They also released EPs like EP Vol. 1 (2009).
In 2011, Roberto played on and helped produce the album Fathers & Sons. This was for a Scottish folk duo named Donald and Jen MacNeill. He also joined them on their tour.
Roberto also helped produce a special album called Better World Coming. This album was a tribute to the famous folk singer Woody Guthrie.
With Lowlands, Roberto has toured a lot in Italy and other countries. They have played in clubs, theaters, and festivals. Some famous places they played include the Windmill in London and Whelans in Dublin.

In 2007, Roberto started an acoustic duo called Ses Cordas with Marco Pinna. "Ses Cordas" means "six strings" in the Sardinian language. This duo focuses on traditional Mediterranean folk music. In 2008, they released their album Mediterranean Journey.
In 2008, Roberto helped record and produce the album Online by Simone Borghi. This album featured famous musicians like Steve Lukather and Simon Phillips from the band Toto. Other guitarists like Frank Gambale and Dean Parks also played on it.
A song from this album, "Every Night Together" (2009), was performed with Italian singer Linda Valori. This song received three nominations at the Grammy Awards in 2010.
