Robin's Tennis Journey
College Tennis Success
Robin went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2011 to 2015. She was a key player on the UCLA tennis team. In 2014, she helped her team win the NCAA championship. This is a big competition for college sports teams.
Robin was recognized as one of the best college tennis players in the country. She won the Honda Sports Award in both 2014 and 2015. This award goes to the top female college athletes.
Becoming a Professional Player
After college, Robin became a professional tennis player. She started competing in bigger tournaments.
In 2021, Robin reached her first final in a WTA 125 singles tournament. This was at the Midland Tennis Classic. She played well but lost to Madison Brengle in the final match.
Grand Slam Debut
A Grand Slam tournament is one of the four biggest events in tennis. These are the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
Robin got a special invitation, called a wildcard, to play in the main part of the 2022 Australian Open. This was her very first time playing in a Grand Slam tournament. She had won a challenge organized by the USTA to earn this spot. Even though she lost in the first round, it was a big step in her career.
Doubles Achievements
Robin also plays doubles tennis, where two players team up. In 2024, she and her partner, Dalayna Hewitt, were runners-up at the Calgary National Bank Challenger. They played a very close final match.
