Robyn A. Crittenden is an American lawyer from the state of Georgia. She made history as the first African-American woman to hold a major statewide job in Georgia. She served as the 28th Secretary of State of Georgia.

About Robyn Crittenden
Robyn Crittenden has held many important positions in Georgia's government. She is known for her work in law and public service. She has served under two different governors, helping to lead important state departments.
Her Education
Robyn Crittenden studied at two well-known universities. She earned her first degree, a Bachelor of Arts, from Yale University. Later, she got her law degree (called a Juris Doctor) from the University of Michigan Law School. This education prepared her for a career in law and public service.
Important Roles
Before her big state roles, Robyn worked in several important legal jobs. She was the main lawyer for Morehouse College. She also helped with legal matters for the Georgia Board of Regents. This board oversees public colleges and universities in Georgia. She also worked as a lawyer for DeKalb County, Georgia.
Leading State Departments
In 2015, Governor Nathan Deal chose Robyn Crittenden to lead the Georgia Department of Human Services. This department helps families and children in need. She worked there until 2018.
Secretary of State
On November 8, 2018, Robyn Crittenden was appointed as the 28th Secretary of State of Georgia. She took over after Brian Kemp resigned from the position. As Secretary of State, she was in charge of elections and keeping official state records. She served in this role for a short time, completing the rest of the term.

After her time as Secretary of State, she was again appointed to lead the Georgia Department of Human Services. She continued her work helping the people of Georgia.
Leading the Department of Revenue
In June 2021, Governor Kemp appointed Robyn Crittenden to lead the Georgia Department of Revenue. This department is responsible for collecting taxes for the state. She took over from David Curry in this important role.
