Natural Features
This community is nestled between two natural landforms. To its west is Warm Springs Ridge, which is about 1,086 feet high. To the east, you'll find Timber Ridge, which is a bit taller at 1,355 feet.
The name "Rock Gap" comes from a special opening in Warm Springs Ridge. This opening was created by a small stream called Rock Gap Run. This stream is a tributary, meaning it flows into a larger stream called Sleepy Creek. The "gap" refers to the space carved out by the water through the ridge.
