Timber Ridge is a long, narrow mountain chain. It is part of the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians, a larger mountain system. This ridge stretches across two U.S. states: Virginia and West Virginia.

Timber Ridge starts near Stotlers Crossroads in Morgan County, West Virginia. It then extends all the way to Lehew in Hampshire County, West Virginia. The name "Timber Ridge" fits well because most of the ridge is covered in trees. You can also find some fruit orchards and open fields there.

Part of Timber Ridge forms a natural border. From Good to Lehew, it separates Hampshire County, West Virginia from Frederick County, Virginia.

Exploring Timber Ridge's Peaks

Even though Timber Ridge is one continuous mountain chain, it has several smaller peaks and hills. Each of these smaller parts has its own name.

Named Summits and Knobs

One of these named spots is Chine Spring Knob. This knob reaches a height of 1,312 feet (400 meters).
