Rockmond Dunbar (born January 11, 1973) is an American actor. He is well-known for his roles in many TV shows. These include Baines on Earth 2 and Kenny Chadway on Soul Food. He also played Benjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin on Prison Break. Later, he was Sheriff Eli Roosevelt on Sons of Anarchy. He also appeared as FBI Agent Dennis Abbott on The Mentalist. More recently, he played Michael Grant on 9-1-1.

Rockmond Dunbar was born on January 11, 1973. His hometown is Oakland, California. He went to Oakland Technical High School. After high school, he studied at Morehouse College for a year. He then continued his studies at the College of Santa Fe and the University of New Mexico.

Television Roles
Rockmond Dunbar is famous for playing Kenny Chadway in the TV series Soul Food. He also had a main role as Benjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin on Prison Break. In 2007, Dunbar starred in the medical drama Heartland. He also appeared on Noah's Arc. He had a repeating role on the show Girlfriends. He was also known for his role as "Pookie" on The Game.
Dunbar has also made guest appearances in other TV shows. These include Earth 2, Felicity, and The Pretender. He also appeared in Two Guys and a Girl and North Shore.
In 2011, he joined the cast of Sons of Anarchy. He played Eli Roosevelt, the new Sheriff of Charming. In 2013, Dunbar became part of the CBS show The Mentalist. He played FBI agent Dennis Abbott. From 2018, Dunbar was a main actor on 9-1-1 as Michael Grant. He left the show in 2021. This was because of a rule about getting the COVID-19 vaccine. His requests to not get the vaccine were not approved.
In February 2022, it was reported that he sued the show's creators. He said he was not allowed to have medical or religious reasons for not getting the vaccine. He also said he faced unfair treatment. A judge later said some of his claims were not strong. However, some claims about religious and other unfair treatment are still being looked at. Dunbar said his reason for not getting the vaccine was based on his church beliefs.

Rockmond Dunbar was married to Ivy Holmes from 2003 to 2006. On December 30, 2012, he got engaged to Maya Gilbert. She is also an actress. They had been dating for one year. They got engaged in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Dunbar is a member of the Church of Universal Wisdom. Members of this church try to avoid medical treatments that they believe could harm the body. His lawsuit against Disney and Fox mentioned that his religious beliefs were questioned during talks about the vaccine rule.
DNA tests show that Dunbar's family mostly comes from the Yoruba people in Nigeria. When he visited Nigeria, he was given a Yoruba name. The name is Omobowale, which means "our son has come home."
