Dana Stinson, also known as Rockwilder, is an American music producer and songwriter. He is well-known for his work with many famous artists. Some of these include Redman, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, and Janet Jackson. Rockwilder has contributed to every Redman studio album since 1994. This shows how important he has been to Redman's music career.

Rockwilder's Early Career

Dana Stinson, known as Rockwilder, started his music career in 1993. He began working closely with his friend Redman in New York City. Rockwilder helped create the intro song "Bobyahead2dis" for Redman's 1994 album, Dare Iz a Darkside. He also produced many other songs for Redman's albums. Besides Redman, he worked with other artists like Method Man, Busta Rhymes, and Erick Sermon.

Big Hits in the 1990s

In 1997, Rockwilder produced the song "One" for Busta Rhymes and Erykah Badu. This song was part of Busta Rhymes' 1997 album, When Disaster Strikes.... Later, in 1999, he produced the popular song "Da Rockwilder" for Method Man and Redman. This song became a rap favorite and reached the top 15 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart. As the 1990s ended, Rockwilder also produced songs for Jay-Z's album, Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter. This included the hit song "Do It Again", which was a top 10 rap hit.

Expanding His Music Style

By the year 2000, Rockwilder started to work on music beyond just hip-hop. Many R&B artists wanted his help to create songs that would be popular on the radio. These songs often blended R&B with hip-hop sounds.

  • Pink: He produced "Get the Party Started/Sweet Dreams," which was a B-side to her 2001 hit "Get the Party Started".
  • Destiny's Child: He worked on a remix of their hit song "Bootylicious". He also produced songs like "If" and "Free" for their 2004 album, Destiny Fulfilled.
