Rodney Litchfield's Acting Career
Rodney Litchfield began his acting journey on television in the 1980s. One of his first roles was in a British drama called Travelling Man.

Over the years, Rodney appeared in many popular British TV shows. These included brief roles in Juliet Bravo, A Touch of Frost, Cracker, and Heartbeat. He also had a part in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.
Famous Roles
Rodney Litchfield is perhaps best remembered for playing Tommy in the comedy show Early Doors. In this show, Tommy was a quiet, grumpy old man who sat in the corner of a pub. He tried to avoid talking to other people and even avoided accepting free drinks so he wouldn't have to buy a round for everyone! Rodney starred in both series of this popular sitcom.
After Early Doors, he joined the cast of the very famous soap opera Coronation Street. He played a character named Wilfred Morton. His character arrived in a van with his granddaughter, Jodie (played by Samantha Seager). They were renovating an old bakery into a takeaway shop. In the show, Michael Starke played Rodney's son, Jerry Morton.
Rodney Litchfield passed away on September 5, 2020, at the age of 81.
