Rodrigo Gral became well-known for his time playing in Japan. He joined the team Júbilo Iwata in 2002. His first game in the J1 League was on March 17, 2002, against Consadole Sapporo. In that game, he scored a goal in front of the home fans at Yamaha Stadium.
