Rogers is a small village located in Colfax County, Nebraska, in the United States. It's a quiet place with a population of 82 people, according to the 2020 census.

History of Rogers

Rogers was officially planned and laid out in 1886. This process, called "platting," means that the streets, blocks, and lots were mapped out before buildings were constructed. The village was named after an important official who worked for the railroad.

Railroad and Post Office

Rogers became a key "shipping point" for the Union Pacific Railroad. This means it was a place where goods and products were loaded onto trains to be sent to other towns, or unloaded from trains arriving in Rogers.

A post office first opened in Rogers in 1883. It closed for a short time in 1885 but reopened in 1887. The post office served the community for many years before closing permanently in 1988.
