The Rogue River is a small river in Oregon, United States. It flows through Polk County. This river is a branch, or tributary, of the South Yamhill River.
The Rogue River joins the South Yamhill River about 1,000 feet (300 meters) north of a town called Grand Ronde. Sometimes, people call it Rogue Creek because it is not very big.

What's in a Name?
The Rogue River got its name from the Rogue River Indians. These Native American people used to live along its banks. They were later moved from Southern Oregon to the nearby Grand Ronde Indian Reservation. The name "Rogue" came from how some early settlers described these tribes.
