Roman Kemp is a well-known British radio host and TV star. He was born in America but grew up in Britain. From 2017 to 2024, he hosted the popular breakfast show on Capital FM.

Roman Kemp's Early Life
Roman Kemp's dad is the famous actor and musician Martin Kemp. His mum is singer Shirlie Holliman. Roman has an older sister named Harley Moon.
A very special person in his life was the late singer George Michael, who was his godfather. Roman went to Berkhamsted School until he was 15 years old. He was even in the same school year as the YouTube star KSI.

Roman Kemp started his career in radio and TV in 2014. He quickly became a familiar voice and face.
Starting Out in the 2010s
In November 2014, Roman joined Capital FM. He began by hosting a Sunday morning show. A year later, he moved to Saturday evenings and Sunday nights. This gave him the chance to interview many music artists.
By February 2016, Roman became the main host of The Capital Evening Show. He continued to host his Sunday show too. In 2017, he started hosting Capital Breakfast with Vick Hope in London. Later, Sonny Jay joined them as a co-presenter.
Roman also worked on TV during this time. In 2016, he was the digital presenter for The X Factor UK. He also co-hosted Nick Kicks on Nicktoons. Since 2017, he has co-presented 2Awesome on ITV2 with Vick Hope. He also hosted The Hot Desk on ITV2.
Roman narrated Bromans on ITV2 in 2017. His dad, Martin Kemp, even played a role in that show. Roman also appeared on Len Goodman's Partners in Rhyme. In November 2017, he took part in a special First Dates episode for Stand Up to Cancer.
In November 2017, Roman was a backstage reporter for Children in Need Rocks the 80s. He also hosted the Global Awards in 2018 and 2019. In April 2019, Roman, Vick Hope, and Sonny Jay became the hosts of the new national Capital Breakfast show.
In May 2019, Roman played in Soccer Aid, representing the Rest of the World team. This was because he was born in Los Angeles, making him American. Since June 2019, he has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with his dad. In 2019, Roman was a contestant on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. He finished in third place on the show. Roman also hosted London's New Year celebration show twice, in 2017 and 2019.
Career Highlights in the 2020s
In 2020, Roman started co-hosting a Sunday morning show with his dad. It was called Martin & Roman's Sunday Best! on ITV. In November 2020, Roman was a guest on Loose Women. He was part of the show's first ever all-male panel.
From April 2021, Roman and his dad presented Martin & Roman's Weekend Best!. This was a spin-off from their earlier Sunday show.
In 2023, Roman presented a BBC documentary called Boot Dreams: Now or Never. This show was about young footballers trying to get professional contracts. Since July 2023, Roman has also co-presented the quiz show The Finish Line on BBC1 with Sarah Greene.
In November 2023, Roman presented another important documentary on BBC Three. It was called Roman Kemp: The Fight for Young Lives. This documentary looked at ways to help improve the mental health of young people in the UK.
On 8 October 2023, it was announced that Roman would be leaving Capital Breakfast. He had been the main host for seven years. He explained that he wanted to focus more on his TV career with BBC and ITV1. His final show was on 28 March 2024.
On 2 March 2024, Roman hosted the annual BRIT Awards. He presented the show alongside Maya Jama and Clara Amfo.
Roman's Personal Life
Roman Kemp is a big fan of Arsenal F.C., a famous football club. In his documentary Roman Kemp: The Fight for Young Lives, Roman shared that he has dealt with depression since he was 15. He wants to help other young people with their mental health.
