Roman Kemp (born 28 January 1993) is a British TV and radio star. He was born in America. From 2017 to 2024, he hosted the popular breakfast show on Capital FM. Roman also presents The One Show on BBC One. In 2019, he came in third place on the TV show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.

Early Life and School
Where Roman Grew Up
Roman Kemp was born on January 28, 1993, in Los Angeles, USA. His dad is the actor and musician Martin Kemp. His mum is the singer Shirlie Holliman. A famous singer, George Michael, was Roman's godfather.
Roman's Education
Roman went to Berkhamsted School in Hertfordshire, England. This was a private day school. He studied there until he was 15 years old. He was in the same school year as the famous YouTuber and musician KSI.
Roman's Career Journey
Starting in Radio (2010s)
Roman Kemp began his radio career in November 2014. He joined Capital FM to host a Sunday morning show. A year later, he got a new show on Saturdays and Sundays. This gave him the chance to interview many music artists.
In February 2016, Roman became the main host of The Capital Evening Show. He hosted it on weekdays. In 2017, he started hosting the Capital Breakfast show with Vick Hope. This show was for London listeners and later for the whole country. Sonny Jay joined them as a co-presenter in 2018.
Roman on TV (2010s)
Roman also started working in television. In 2016, he was the digital presenter for The X Factor UK. He also co-hosted Nick Kicks on Nicktoons. From 2017, he co-presented 2Awesome on ITV2 with Vick Hope. He also hosted The Hot Desk on ITV2.
In 2017, Roman narrated a show called Bromans on ITV2. His dad, Martin Kemp, even played a role in it. Roman also appeared on a celebrity version of First Dates to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer. In November 2017, he was a backstage reporter for Children in Need Rocks the 80s.
Roman hosted the 2018 Global Awards and the 2019 Global Awards. In April 2019, Roman, Vick Hope, and Sonny Jay became the hosts of the new national Capital Breakfast show. Roman also played in the Soccer Aid charity football match in 2019. He played for the Rest of the World team because he was born in Los Angeles. Since June 2019, Roman has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with his dad.
In 2019, Roman was a contestant on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. He finished in third place. Roman also hosted London's New Year celebration show twice, in 2017 and 2019.
Recent Career (2020s)
In 2020, Roman started co-hosting a Sunday morning show with his dad, called Martin & Roman's Sunday Best! on ITV. In March 2021, Roman presented a documentary on BBC Three called Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency. This show looked at mental health challenges for young men. His friend, Joe Lyons, had sadly passed away in August 2020.
From April 2021, Roman and his dad presented Martin & Roman's Weekend Best!. This was a spin-off from their Sunday show. In 2023, Roman presented the BBC documentary Boot Dreams: Now or Never. This show was about young footballers trying to become professionals. Since July 2023, Roman has co-presented the quiz show The Finish Line on BBC1.
In November 2023, Roman presented another BBC Three documentary. It was called Roman Kemp: The Fight for Young Lives. This show explored ways to help young people with their mental health in the UK.
On February 19, 2024, Roman announced he would be leaving Capital Breakfast. His last show was on March 28, 2024. He explained that he wanted to avoid reliving the day in 2020 when he learned about his friend Joe Lyons' death during his radio show. On March 2, 2024, Roman hosted the annual BRIT Awards. He hosted it alongside Maya Jama and Clara Amfo. In 2025, Roman returned to play in the annual Soccer Aid charity match for UNICEF. He joined the England team.
Personal Life
Roman is very good friends with the British singer-songwriter Tom Grennan. They host a podcast together called "You About?". In his documentary Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency, Roman shared that he has struggled with depression for many years. He talked about the importance of getting help. In Roman Kemp: The Fight for Young Lives, he further explained that he has dealt with depression since he was 15.
Roman is a big fan of Arsenal F.C., a football team.
