Ronald Wayne Shepherd, born on October 27, 1960, is a former professional baseball player from the United States. He played as an outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball (MLB) for parts of three seasons, from 1984 to 1986. His entire professional baseball career lasted 15 years, from 1979 to 1993. This included four years playing in the Mexican League. Ron is from Longview, Texas. He was 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) tall and weighed 175 pounds (79 kg). He threw and batted with his right-handed arm.

Ron Shepherd's Baseball Journey
Ron Shepherd was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays in the second round of the 1979 Major League Baseball Draft. This happened after he finished high school at Kilgore High School.
Starting in the Major Leagues
In the final month of the 1984 season, the Blue Jays called Ron up to the big leagues. He had been playing for the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs. In his first games in MLB, he played in 12 games. Nine of these were as a pinch runner, meaning he ran for another player. He did not get any hits in his four turns at bat.
Playing in 1985 and 1986
In 1985, Ron split his time between the Blue Jays and the Syracuse Chiefs. He played in 38 games for the Blue Jays. However, he only got four hits in 35 turns at bat.
