Ronaldus Shamask's Journey
Ronaldus Shamask was born in Amsterdam, a city in the Netherlands. He grew up far away in Australia. Even though he became a fashion designer, he first studied to be an architect. This means he learned how to design buildings! He taught himself how to design clothes.
His first job was in Melbourne, Australia, from 1963 to 1966. He designed the displays you see in shop windows. After that, he moved to London, England. From 1967 to 1968, he drew fashion pictures for famous newspapers like The Times and The Observer.
From 1968 to 1971, Ronaldus worked as a designer for a theater group called the Company of Man in Buffalo, New York. He helped create the look for their shows. For several years, from 1971 to 1977, he worked on his own. He designed both interiors (like rooms in houses) and clothing.
In 1978, he started a business with Murray Moss called Moss Shamask Fashion Company in New York. He designed many more clothes for this company until 1990. Ronaldus has received several special awards for his amazing designs.
