Round Lake State Park is a fun place to visit in Idaho. It's a public park located about 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Sagle in Bonner County. The park covers 142 acres (57 hectares) of land. It completely surrounds a beautiful lake called Round Lake, which is 123 acres (50 hectares) in size.

This special lake was formed a very long time ago. During the Pleistocene Ice Age, huge sheets of ice called glaciers moved across the land. As they melted, they left behind the perfect spot for Round Lake. The park officially opened in 1965, giving everyone a chance to enjoy its natural beauty.

Fun Things to Do at Round Lake Park

Round Lake State Park offers many cool activities for visitors. It's a great spot for outdoor adventures all year round. You can enjoy the lake, explore the trails, or simply relax in nature.

Lake Activities

The lake is a central part of the park's fun. You can go fishing for different types of fish. Swimming is also a popular way to cool off on warm days. If you like being on the water, you can use non-motorized boats like canoes or kayaks. Electric-powered boats are also allowed, but gas-powered boats are not. This helps keep the lake peaceful and clean.

Exploring Trails

The park has trails that are perfect for different activities. You can go hiking to explore the forest and see wildlife. Biking is another great way to get around the trails. When winter arrives, these same trails become excellent for cross-country skiing. It's a wonderful way to experience the park in every season.

Camping and Picnics

If you want to stay longer, the park has campsites where you can set up your tent or park your RV. Camping lets you enjoy the park's quiet evenings and starry nights. There are also picnic areas if you just want to visit for the day and have a meal outdoors.
