Rouwaida Attieh (Arabic: رويدا عطية) is a famous singer from Syria. She was born on July 1, 1982. Rouwaida became well-known after she was the first runner-up on the TV show Super Star. This show was like "Pop Idol" for the Arab world. Many people thought she might win, but the winner was Jordanian singer Diana Karazon.

Early Life and Background
Rouwaida Attieh was born in a place called Talkalakh in Syria. Her parents are Haydar and Najida Attieh. Her father, Haydar, grew up in Tripoli, Lebanon. He studied there and finished high school. He met Rouwaida's mother, Najida, when he went to Egypt to study law. After they got married, they moved back to Lebanon, where Najida was born.
Starting Her Music Career
In 2008, Rouwaida signed a contract with Alanoud Production. This company is managed by Anoud Maaliki. She then released her first music album with them, called "Essmani." Platinum Records helped to share this album with fans. The album had some popular songs. These included "Shou Sahel El Hali," "Hayati Melkite," and "Bala Hob."
Her Time on Super Star
Rouwaida Attieh took part in the first season of Super Star in 2003. This was a very popular singing competition on TV. She did very well and made it all the way to the final round. Her strong voice and talent made her a favorite with many viewers.
