Rouwaida Attieh (Arabic: رويدا عطية; born July 1, 1982) is a talented singer from Syria. She became well-known after appearing on the first season of Super Star, a popular TV show similar to "Pop Idol" in other countries. Rouwaida was the first runner-up, meaning she came in second place. Many people thought she might win, along with Lebanese singer Melhem Zein. The winner of that season was Jordanian contestant Diana Karazon. Rouwaida later signed with AlAnoud Productions to release her music.
Early Life and Family
Rouwaida Attieh was born in a place called Talkalakh in Syria. Her parents are Haydar and Najida Attieh. Her father, Haydar, was born in Syria but grew up in Tripoli, Lebanon. He finished high school there.
Her father met her mother, Najida, when he moved to Egypt to study law. After they got married, they moved back to Lebanon, which is where Najida was born.
Music Career
Rouwaida's journey in music began when she took part in Super Star 1 in 2003. This was a big singing competition, and she made it all the way to the finals! Her strong voice and stage presence made her a favorite among viewers.
In 2008, Rouwaida signed a contract with Alanoud Production. This company is managed by Anoud Maaliki. With this new partnership, she released her first album with the label, which was called Essmani. Platinum Records helped distribute this album. It featured several popular songs, including "Shou Sahel El Hali," "Hayati Melkite," and "Bala Hob." These songs helped her gain more fans across the Arab world.
