Rudolf Martin (born July 31, 1967) is a German actor who is famous for his work in the United States. He started his career in plays in New York City before becoming a star in movies and on TV.

Martin is well-known for playing interesting and memorable characters, especially villains. He has appeared as a guest star on many popular television shows. He also acts in German productions and lives in Los Angeles.

Early Life and Schooling

Rudolf Martin was born in West Berlin, Germany. As a child, he traveled all over Europe and finished his schooling. He loved the arts, so he studied American and English literature in Berlin. Later, he studied drama in Paris.

To follow his dream of acting, Martin moved to New York City. He joined the famous Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. While acting in small plays, he got a main role in an award-nominated short film called The Dutch Master. He also acted on the TV show All My Children and in a popular comedy play called The Food Chain.

Acting Career

In 1999, Rudolf Martin moved to Los Angeles to work in bigger movies. He soon appeared in the action movie Swordfish with stars like John Travolta and Halle Berry. In the film, Martin played Axl Torvalds, a brilliant computer hacker.

Before Swordfish, Martin had a role in the TV show Beggars and Choosers. He played Nikolai Krasnakov, a charming but dangerous character, for two seasons.

Playing Dracula

One of Martin's most famous roles is the legendary character Dracula. In 2000, he starred as Vlad the Impaler in the movie Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula. The movie was filmed in Romania, where the real Prince Vlad III lived centuries ago.

Soon after, he played Count Dracula again. This time, it was on the popular TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He appeared in the episode "Buffy vs. Dracula" with actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.
