Fun at the Golf Course

Runaway Bay is home to The Club at Runaway Bay. This club has an 18-hole golf course and a clubhouse. It was designed by Leon Howard and opened in 1969. The course is known for being challenging, with a par of 72. It was even mentioned in Golf Digest magazine as one of the "Best Places to Play" in 2008–09.

The Mystery of the Chupacabra Sighting

On January 17, 2010, something strange happened at the golf course. People reported seeing a creature that they thought might be a chupacabra. A chupacabra is a legendary creature said to attack livestock. The animal found was described as "brown, earth-colored," with no hair, large teeth, and long, clawed feet.

Solving the Mystery

A biologist from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department investigated the sighting. After looking closely at the animal, the biologist figured out what it really was. It turned out to be a hairless raccoon. So, the mystery was solved!
