Rupert and the Ice Castle is a fun video game released in 1986. It was created by Taskset and published by Bug-Byte. Players could enjoy this game on computers like the Commodore 64 and the ZX Spectrum. The game is based on the famous British cartoon and comic strip character, Rupert Bear. Rupert Bear was first created in 1920 by artist Mary Tourtel.
In this game, you play as Rupert Bear in a platform arcade adventure. Rupert's friends, including Bingo, Edward Trunk, Algy, and Bill Badger, have all been frozen! This happened while they were visiting Jack Frost at his Ice Castle. Jack Frost's mischievous sister, Jenny, is the one who froze them.
How to Play the Game
Rupert has a special mission: he needs to save his frozen friends! He carries magic ice pills that can unfreeze them. To help his friends, Rupert must find each one and give them an ice pill. Once unfrozen, they can return to their hometown, Nutwood.
Challenges and Obstacles
Jenny, Jack Frost's sister, has set up many traps to stop Rupert. If Rupert gets hit by a toy, he loses one of his valuable ice pills. If he runs out of pills, he will become frozen himself, and the game will end!
Game Levels and Movement
The game has three different levels, and each part of these levels brings new challenges for Rupert. In the third level, Rupert will find warm clothes scattered around the Ice Castle. These clothes help him stay warm as he searches for his friends in the cold. Rupert can move in many ways: he can run, jump over obstacles, duck to avoid snowballs, and even slide along icy patches!
