Meet the Band Members
Rush had three very talented musicians who made up the band for most of its history.
Geddy Lee: The Voice and Bass
Geddy Lee was the lead singer of Rush. He also played the bass guitar, which is a low-sounding guitar that provides the rhythm and foundation for the music. In later years, he also used synthesizers, which are electronic keyboards that can make many different sounds. His high-pitched voice was a big part of Rush's unique sound.
Alex Lifeson: The Guitar Wizard
Alex Lifeson was the band's guitarist. He created many different sounds and textures with his guitar, from heavy rock riffs to more gentle, melodic parts. His guitar playing helped give Rush its distinctive style.
Neil Peart: The Drummer and Lyricist
Neil Peart was the drummer for Rush. He was known for his amazing drum solos and very complex drumming patterns. He was also the main lyric writer for the band. This means he wrote most of the words for their songs. His lyrics often explored interesting topics like science fiction, philosophy, and fantasy.
