Russell Earl Holmes is an American politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He works in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. This is a group of people who make laws for the state of Massachusetts.
Mr. Holmes was first chosen for this job in November 2010. He represents the Sixth Suffolk District. This area includes several neighborhoods in Boston. These are Dorchester, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, and Roslindale.

His Early Roles in the House
When he first joined, Mr. Holmes had important jobs. He was the treasurer for the new members of the 187th General Court. He also served on the Judiciary Committee. This committee looks at laws about courts and justice.
Mr. Holmes was chosen for a special program. It was called the Emerging Leaders program. This program helps leaders learn new skills. He also worked on a group about Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. These cards help people buy food and other important things.
Leading the Black and Latino Caucus
