Ruti's Music Journey
Becoming a Star on The Voice UK
In 2018, Ruti Olajugbagbe tried out for The Voice UK. She joined the team of famous singer Sir Tom Jones. Ruti impressed everyone and ended up winning the entire show!
After her victory, Ruti released her winner's song, "Dreams". This song was a cover of a popular tune by The Cranberries. It quickly became very popular, reaching number 1 on the UK iTunes Store. It also made it to number 14 on the main UK Singles Chart.
Releasing Her First EP: Racing Cars
On April 5, 2019, Ruti released her first collection of songs, an EP called Racing Cars. An EP is like a mini-album with fewer songs than a full album. She released it through a record company called Polydor.
Ruti even returned to the final of The Voice in 2019 to perform the main song from her EP, also called "Racing Cars." However, after her EP came out, Ruti announced that she was no longer working with Polydor Records.
New Record Deals and Future Music
In September 2021, Ruti shared exciting news. She had signed a publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing. This means Sony helps manage her songs and how they are used.
Just two months later, in November 2021, Ruti announced on her Instagram page that she had signed a new record deal. This new deal was with PMR Records, which is part of the large Universal Music Group. This was a big step for her music career!
