Ryan Orlando Thompson (born November 4, 1967) is a former professional baseball player from the United States. He played as an Outfielder for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1992 and 2002. An outfielder is a player who fields in the outer part of the baseball field. Ryan also played one season in Japan.

Early Career and MLB Debut
Ryan Thompson started his professional baseball journey with the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1992, he was part of a big trade. The Blue Jays traded him and another player, Jeff Kent, to the New York Mets. In return, the Blue Jays received pitcher David Cone.
Thompson then made his debut in Major League Baseball with the New York Mets. This was in 1992. He played for the Mets until 1995.
Playing in Major League Baseball
After his time with the Mets, Ryan Thompson continued his career in MLB. He played for several different teams. In 1996, he joined the Cleveland Indians.
Later, he played for the Houston Astros in 1999. He also played for the famous New York Yankees in 2000. His career continued with the Florida Marlins in 2001. Finally, he played for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2002.
